We’ll be bringing VEVO fans even more live concert experiences with the just-announced “Unstaged: An Original Series from American Express.”
Partnering with our friends at American Express and YouTube, we’ll live stream five concerts over the remainder of the year. The series will feature some of the music industry’s breakthrough artists playing at landmark venues across the country, tapping some of today’s most influential filmmakers to direct the live-streams, and use digital and social media to connect the online audience to the live shows in unexpected ways. The series is scheduled to also feature a variety of surprise musical guest performances along the way.
Officially beginning August 5, “Unstaged” will kick-off with Arcade Fire live from Madison Square Garden in New York City. The performance will be live-streamed from the world’s most famous arena and will coincide with the band’s highly anticipated third album release, The Suburbs (Merge Records) on August 3. Access the Arcade Fire live-stream at: www.youtube.com/arcadefirevevo.
John Legend and The Roots will join the “Unstaged” lineup later this year, with a complete list of artists set to be unveiled in the coming months.
Christina Aguilera‘s powerful yet elegant voice has left us in shock and awe once again. Undoubtedly one of the greatest talents in the business has just premiered her second video “You Lost Me” from her fourth English studio album, Bionic.
This ballad, like her past hits “Beautiful“, “The Voice Within“, and “I Turn To You”, allows her voice to shine without being overshadowed by any distracting harmonies or loud percussion. Christina Aguilera‘s “You Lost Me” video exhibits her raw and deeply emotional side without the flair and flash of “Not Myself Tonight”. The video reflects the song by focusing solely on a delicate Christina Aguilera while she struggles through a neglected and struggling relationship.
The video begins with her in a bedroom but soon we find her on the floor of a cave, fighting off the desperate grasp of her former lover. Then in a stark contrast to the dark cave and her dark clothing she ends her video clad in all white surrounded by bright light.
To truly understand the artistic beauty that is incorporated in the video, you’ve got to check it out for yourself!
In the premiere of their new video, “Paris (Ooh La La),”Grace Potter and the Nocturnals do their part to bring the blues to vaudeville. Taking place in a smoky, dimly lit theater, lead chanteuse Grace Potter commands the stage as she opines of ways she can make the object of her affection finally be hers. Grooving along to the beat are some lovely vaudeville dancers giving their Paris best, with enough swivels and tumbles to keep you coming back for another watch. With a sexy (and catchy!) chorus that seduces your brain, “Paris (Ooh La La)” definitely succeeds in adding some spice to this very steamy summer.
If you’re in the mood for trouble, the new video from pop-punk trio Young and Divine may be just the thing to whet your appetite. The video for “Weakdays,” which premiered today on VEVO, gives a whole new meaning to Alumni Day, featuring the group wreaking some major havoc at their alma mater. “Weakdays” makes us long for the days of toilet-papering and food fights in high school… and makes us wish we were classmates of Young and Divine! It’s definitely the perfect jam for a Tuesday afternoon. Check it out!
Who knew N.E.R.D‘s knew how to party so good? Multi-Colored lights, stage dancers, two drum sets, and a crowd full of “Party People,” not your typical idea of study night essentials. This was the case at the Brooklyn Bowl where N.E.R.D. performed classics as well as their second single, “Party People,” from their upcoming album, Nothing. With a hypnotizing bass line and breakout funk inspired chorus, they do what they do best in giving the crowd an action packed performance. With album cuts that make us want to groove, N.E.R.D. give us a lot of to say about Nothing.
